The ARRA Group, a boutique healthcare recruitment firm, is working closely with an award-winning Hospital and seeking a skilled and dedicated Licensed Behavioral Health Psychiatric Clinician to provide utilization and case management services in the Emergency Department setting.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and possess licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Connecticut. This position requires a strong background in behavioral health assessment, treatment planning, and utilization management to ensure efficient resource utilization and high-quality care to individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct concurrent utilization reviews to assess the medical necessity and appropriateness of psychiatric admissions, treatment modalities, and lengths of stay, per regulatory guidelines and payer requirements.
  • Advocate for patients’ access to appropriate levels of care and coordinate referrals to community-based resources, including outpatient mental health services, substance abuse treatment programs, and social support services.
  • Provide crisis intervention, brief counseling, and supportive services to patients and their families to address immediate needs and facilitate linkage to ongoing care upon discharge from the Emergency Department.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies, managed care organizations, and external review agencies to facilitate authorization for psychiatric services, address utilization management issues, and ensure compliance with reimbursement criteria.
  • Document all utilization and case management activities accurately and in a timely manner, utilizing electronic health record systems and other documentation tools as required by organizational policies and regulatory standards.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Connecticut.
